Miley Cyrus And The Jonas Brothers
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but there seems to be trend of bad Disney pop music on the radio airwaves. Primarily in America but it is now spreading around the globe at a pace that is way too fast. Some of the acts that are from the Disney Brand include The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and the big one Miley Cyrus. Now The Jonas Brothers are three real life brothers who like all these acts make pop/rocks songs made for 13 year old girls. I understand that… but man we need to start educating kids at a younger age about music. As far as the music side of things go the only reason these artists are getting played on radio is because there is hype surrounding them, the actual music they make would not succeed if they didn’t have a Disney show and a lot of publicity behind them. The scary thing is that this music, which is targeted at teenagers, is crossing over into the 20/30 something’s, who should know better. Each to their own I just don’t want the mainstream market heading back toward dumbed down pop music when we were making so much progress with introducing more alternative music into mainstream listening.
