I have a problem. Not with myself, but with artists or musicians. When a artist has a new body of work, i.e. A new album ,the decisions they and the record label make are crucial to the succsess of the album. My problem is, that a lot of the time they make bad decisions! If you don't like ranting then skip the rest of this post and just look at the video below. As far as having a succsessful record, the most common mistake that artists make is that they release the wrong songs of their album as singles. This can not just be blamed on the artist, depending on the surcemstances it can end up being the record labels decission. Sometimes I wonder, what are these people thingking? Maybe they are not..... The latest example is electro-pop group, Sneaky Sound System. Their latest album '2' came out last year, the first single off the album Kansas City which did well, the second single When We Were Young failed to chart because it was such a bad choice for radio. Now they are at the point where they can revive themselves from the bad choice they made and have a killer 3rd single. Except once again they have made a bad decision and haven't learnt from what happened with there second single. Sneaky have chosen '16' as the next single which is a good song, but not a good song for radio and unfortunetly any cance of selling more copies of their album is going out the door.
