Daniel Johns from Silverchair was named songwriter of the year at the APRA Awards last week. He's the only artist to take out the prize three times. The single Straight Lines which Daniel co-wrote with Julian Hamilton of The Presets was the Most Played Australian Work of the year. It also won Song Of The Year. And that was a surprise to Daniel! "I thought people would hate it hey? After Diarama I thought people would say we sold out. Young Modern's a pop record. If it was up to me I'd sound like Destiny's Child." At least Daniel is honest.
